Lieutenant Chad Church
Chad Church is a Colorado native. He attended Littleton Public Schools and graduated from the Arapahoe High School. He has studied at the Arapahoe Community College. Chad started his law enforcement career in 1991, as a Police Explorer with the Sheridan Police Department. In 1994 he graduated from the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Training Academy. At that time, Chad began working as a Reserve Police Officer for the Sheridan Police Department. He volunteered hundreds of hours working as a Reserve Officer. He was hired by the City of Sheridan as a full time Police Officer in 1996. While with the Sheridan Police Department, Chad was assigned to work with the South Metro Drug Task Force. Chad joined the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office in 2002. He has worked as a Patrol Deputy, then as an Investigator where he was promoted to Sergeant. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2005. As a Lieutenant he worked in Professional Standard as well as the Evidence Custodian, as the Patrol Division commander and is currently the Detentions Division Commander. Chad has multiple certifications and several other assignments. Some of these assignments include:

In his time with the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office, Chad has received a Medal of Merit, twice awarded with Medals of Valor and a Lifesaving Award.
